  16. If Circulation is to get 'respect' it will be earned by the attitude of
  17. the people staffing the desk, and not by the name on a piece of parchment
  18. hanging on the wall.  There are a bunch of folks on this list who run
  19. a good Circ operation that do not have the MLS degree, and there is no
  20. guarantee that the posession of a degree guarantees a top-notch circ
  21. operation.

  23. If Circulation *is* run as a professional operation by those who have
  24. no MLS, and it doesn't get the respect it deserves, then the problem
  25. lies in the administration of the library...folks who by and large
  26. DO have their MLS.
