- If Circulation is to get 'respect' it will be earned by the attitude of
- the people staffing the desk, and not by the name on a piece of parchment
- hanging on the wall. There are a bunch of folks on this list who run
- a good Circ operation that do not have the MLS degree, and there is no
- guarantee that the posession of a degree guarantees a top-notch circ
- operation.

- If Circulation *is* run as a professional operation by those who have
- no MLS, and it doesn't get the respect it deserves, then the problem
- lies in the administration of the library...folks who by and large
- DO have their MLS.
