- On your system console (MVS or VSE) you should be getting some sense codes
- that will help resolving the problem. I'm sure you have looked at them,
- but you might include this in your problem description. I'm also assuming
- that all your AS/400 sessions fail, but non-AS/400 terminals work.
-
- I'm very new to Vtam (VSE flavor) and had a few glitches on our conversion;
- one of which was similar to yours (some VM terminals were not connecting).
- My problem was that my physical terminal was a bit different than how I
- defined it in the TCTTE entry. Actually, even the control unit type can
- also affect this. By taking the log mode definition out of the entry
- and using LOGMODE=0 in the TCTTE, it solved my non-connect problem. Your
- QUERY may be identifing your terminal different than how you have it hard-
- coded in CICS. Doing this, though, means you need to have the LOGMODE
- (or it's equivalent) defined in the AS/400 somewhere - I would assume.
- in fact it may be that your definition in the AS/400 differs from the
- results of the QUERY. One thing I have found out with VTAM is that if
- you do not have a perfect fit on the terminal definition, that VTAM just
- doesn't want to establish a session.
-
- Please bear in mind that this guess and 50 cents will get you a cup of
- coffee........ maybe.
