  16. I have no expertise in this matter, but I believe the Green Ribbon Club
  17. was a Whig organization in the late 1670's.

  25. Valentinians, be very tolerable Marks of Distinction?  The Prasini and
  26. Veniti, two most virulent Factions in Italy, began (if I remember right)
  27. by a Distinction of Coulours in Ribbonds; which we might do, with as
  28. good a Grace, about the Dignity of the Blue and the Green; and would
  29. serve as properly to divide the Court, the Parliament, and the Kingdom
  30. between them, as any Terms of Art whatsoever, borrowed from Religion.
