- well, my stance at this point borders on uncaring now. i don't really care
- what the label scum (tm) call "alternative" cos i listen to whatever i dang
- well feel like. i've just gotten tired of screaming and yelling about this
- is alternative and this is not, so i just sorta gave up on it. if someone
- i know wants to broaden their musical horizons, i'm more than happy to help
- out, but i no longer have the energy to do that forcibly (imagine, if you
- will, a chair with straps surrounded by speakers...carol's new sex toy? no.
- it's the musical indoctrination center in my basement!).
-
- the semantics are only important if you are on a crusade to free the minds
- of the 120 minuteheads. i just don't bother anymore. if they are comfortable
- in their delusion that alternative rock is the end-all be-all of whatever
- it is that alternative is, so be it. if they aren't, well, sooner or later,
- they'll walk in to my apartment when i'm playing henry cow, ingrid karklins,
- miladoiro or folk music from newfoundland.
-
- your disgruntlement is noted and reasonable, but i can't bring myself to get
- worked up about this.
