- Probably unpopular because they were a good example
- of neither eastern nor western music. One of the
- problems with crossovers is that it is rarely a synergistic
- effect. It is more often the opposite; the whole is less
- than the sum of the parts. But, there are success stories.
- Musicals like Les Miserables and Phantom of the Opera are
- classical - pop syntheses that are popular.
