- No, this would be the one just called _The Band_, sepiatone cover, with "King
- Harvest," "Up on Cripple Creek," "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down," and a
- bunch of other songs I played at least once too often in jam sessions with my
- lame rock'n'roll friends :-) Not a bad choice, although the tempi are a bit
- staid for my post-punk tastes-- and it's kinda reactive rather than proactive.
- My favorite Band tunes are probably "Just Another Whistle Stop" from _Stage
- Fright_ and the _Big Pink_ version of "Chest Fever"-- love that overdriven
- Hammond organ sound, and Carol will tell you how much of a tit man I am :-)
-
- I'll probably go with _The Henry Cow Leg End_ as the high water mark in rock
- 'n' roll, but I won't have an easy time defending it if you don't buy the
- basic prog-rock evolutionary premise (which, when it came to Henry Cow, the
- prog-rockers didn't buy either :-( ).

- No, the name of the band was the Fools. They're still around, or at least
- they had a record out last year called _Show 'Em You're Nuts_, which had a
- cover drawing of a flasher (showing 'em his nuts, get it?). I think they're
- a power trio plus singer. They don't do such obvious parodies any more-- I
- believe they no longer do parodies at all-- but they're still supposed to be
- real funny.

-
- I keep forgetting to mention, this is one king hell whopper of a tape, and
- should be strongly considered by all the improv fans on this list. N.B.: I'm
- a big fan of Davey and LaDonna.
