  26.         Not exactly. Actually, the first separation between PG and his wife
  27. lasted about 18 months and happened at some point between the 4th album (i.e.
  28. _Security_ in Yankeeland) and _So_. The final separation only took place in
  29. late 1987, when he'd rather drag the ship on Rosanna Arquette's shore. As
  30. everyone probably knows, this relationship didn't last long, either.
  31.         Since we're at it, David Spencer's dull biography of Peter Gabriel
  32. reports (in Jill's words) that when the official couple rejoined they decided
  33. (well, Peter pushed Jill to admit :) ) that the best way for them to get rid
  34. of the Arquette's ghost would be to meet all together. And they did, in a re-
  35. staurant in London. Jill's comment was that this actually made things worse,
  36. since every man in the place was attracted and hit by the actress. She felt
  37. rather pissed off, in the end, for a typically feminine sense of not being at
  38. Rosanna's level as for attractiveness. Whatever the effect, I've always thought
  39. this was a wildly weird way to straighten out a problematic relationship.
