  16. I recently asked for opinions on installing running lights (front and rear)
  17. on a BMW K75. I got the kit from Scooterville of Raleigh, N.C. Here are
  18. my experiences to date.

  20. I got the kits, and the instructions on both kits were for the rear assembly.
  21. They had crossed out the word "rear" on one set of instructions, and wrote
  22. in the word "front". After about 3 phone calls, they sent me instructions 
  23. for the front installation.

  25. Anyway, the lights are fairly easy to install. Should take a competent mechanic
  26. about 10 -15 minutes (took me about 20) each for front and back. I'd recommend
  27. slightly crimping the male portions of the kit for a snugger fit, though, as
  28. recommended by someone via email.

  30. I've noticed people seem to give me just a bit more room in the rear now. 
  31. Apparantly, I appear bigger. From the front, I *seem* to be more visible as
  32. well, though that may be due in part to having inadvertantly adjusted my head-
  33. light to a higher position. Oops. I'll get around to fixing it someday. In 
  34. short, the kits seem to do what I wanted: make me more visible front-and-rear
  35. in nighttime traffic. Cops haven't stopped me for having rear running lights,
  36. though several people suggested they might. No cop I've talked to has said 
  37. they knew anything about the lights being illegal, though some have suggested 
  38. that it is, for the rear.
