- Just returned from Monterey-Big Sur this weekend, and the road sign
- says that Highway 1 is closed 20 miles south of Big Sur (although
- it'll probably be reopened by April :-)

- However, if you want a bed and breakfast, I'd recommend that you check
- the AAA B&B guide since it's got lots of listings. I'd
- recommend either Pacific Grove or Carmel.

- We stayed in a nice hotel in Carmel called the Carmel Tradewinds Inn.
- It'd up on the hill, so the top floor has a great ocean view. Also,
- while in Carmel we had some great seafood at Flaherty's.

- Stop at the Stanton Center while touring Monterey... they have
- information on touring the local houses and sights (along with a
- nautical museum).
