  21. I put the mono-chrom composit out to my TV set, and it was able to handle the
  22. PAL scanning rates!  Just had to adjust the size of the picture with the
  23. knobs behind the set.  I also use PAL all the time on my 1084s.  It just adds
  24. so much more room to the screen without having the interlaced flicker.  It
  25. possible to see the flicker, but only if I go out of my way to see it.

  31. Actually HDTV may NOT be the same standard on both sides of the pond.  My
  32. understanding (I subscribe to a video magazine) is that Europe is designing
  33. their OWN standard (analog at that) because they don't want to be dependent
  34. upon Japan's technology for their TV's.  This will help build up some
  35. industry in Europe at the cost of being incombatible with the rest of the
  36. world.  Of course, since the USA has yet to go to metric(was originally planned
  37. to happen back when I was in grade school in the 70's) I'm not sure if it is
  38. a major thing.
