  20. Well, there's always listening to people saying "Hey! That's a direct
  21. rip-off of a Boris painting!" and the like... Admittedly, a few might slip
  22. through somehow. But if one artist got disqualified because he ripped off,
  23. say, a Roger Dean picture, you know he's going to point out any OTHER
  24. artists who are ALSO ripping off Dean...

  29. Well, i can't speak for all artists, but: I'm an artist. I've been one for
  30. quite some time. When HAM paint programs came out, i played with them. I
  31. have DPaint 4. I never use HAM. In my opinion, it's only suited for
  32. CALCULATED pictures such as ray-traced stuff, not for something that you're
  33. going to sit down with and lay down every pixel yourself. I like to have
  34. pixel-level control over color, and no HAM paint program does that.
