- For anyone in the Surfrider foundation (or anyone else who's
- interested), there is an article in this month's Surfer magazine
- about some internal strife at the Surfrider Foundation following
- their winning of a big settlement with some pulp mill.
-
- It seems that the lawyer that brought the case to the attention of
- the Foundation and did much of the work on the case, wanted more
- payment than his contract called for. The board of the Surfrider
- Foundation split over what to do about it (one group backed the lawyer
- and one group wanted to stick with the contract). See the article for
- more details.
-
- However, the good news is that it seems the problems at the board level
- will have little affect on the grass roots volunteer groups so the
- Foundation will probably survive.
