  12. i'm not sure this is entirely about romance, but hey, it's in there
  13. somewhere & y'all seem to be pretty helpful, so here is.

  15. i'm in love. completely. the relationship is more than i ever dreamed
  16. possible. for a while, i was so cynical i had even killed my dreams off.
  17. fortunately, it didn't take much to revive them. love is grand, we're
  18. getting along fine & i'd like to brag a little, which explains the
  19. above.

  21. now, a snake in the garden. my father & i haven't had the best of 
  22. relationships in the past. i'm well beyond the "dress in black & hate 
  23. your dad" stage, but it still comes up now & again. every once in a
  24. while i'll talk to someone from back home & find out he's been saying
  25. downright slanderous things about me. mainly i just ignore him, 
  26. except to tell people who ask that he's a genius (which is true) and 
  27. that he sometimes acts like a 2 year old (also true).

  29. that approach works fine, but relationships make everything a bit more
  30. complex. i've recently found out that he's started including my SO in
  31. his gossip. he knows nothing about her except her name & the fact that
  32. we're together. somehow that doesn't deter him. i don't care when he
  33. talks about me. it makes him look like an idiot & if the poor man 
  34. needs to get his jollies that way, so be it. likewise, my SO is self-
  35. confident enough that it doesn't matter much to her either.

  37. -however-, everything in me violently rebels at the idea of my father
  38. (one person in this world who should be -happy- about this) insulting 
  39. the person i'm deeply in love with. it's such a twisted circumstance 
  40. that i'm having a hard time comprehending it, much less dealing with 
  41. it.

  43. is there anything i can do to forget about this? or at least vent my 
  44. frustrations in a somewhat constructive manner? i'm starting to honestly
  45. dislike the man again because of this. i'd really rather not become
  46. to preoccupied with him, as it's a waste of time & makes me a slave
  47. to his actions. but i can't seem to get it out of my head that someone
  48. who should love me is instead ripping on someone i love.
