- I don't know what to make of this disc. It seems to sit uncomfortably
- at the intersection of industrial and techno. The lame vocoded lyrics
- that pop up now and then wouldn't be out of home on a Front Line
- Assembly record, and there are some nice bleepy sounds which could
- come from the better parts of X102's "Rings Of Saturn" disc. But
- overall, it doesn't really seem energetic enough for techno (despite
- most of the songs being over 130 BPM), and the key signatures are
- usual minor enough to make it seem sort of industrial. The drum
- tracks are industrial-rigid instead of techno-funky.
-
- Overall it reminds me a lot of the current Intermix album, which is
- similarly schizoid. Also, they both owe a heavy debt to the belgian
- Praga Khan/Oliver Adams/Jade 4 U sound. I have a feeling that there
- is an audience out there for this disc, somewhere. Maybe it'll play
- better on the East Coast.
-
- Jon's fave tracks: "Vivid" and "Data Cloud 9".
