- I believe the FAA prohibits the use of anything that either transmits or
- receives RF while on airline planes unless specifically, otherwise exempted
- (things such as airline supplied Air-Phones, cockpit radios, etc) It has
- something to do with interference with flight navigation comms. Apparently
- this is a for-real problem and not some paranoia on the part of the FAA
- because there has been reports of flight navs going awry because someone
- had switched on an FM radio on the flight; things were restored back to
- normal once they tracked down the passenger and had him/her turn off the FM
- radio.
