- I bought a new Motorola cordless phone (America Series 350) because
- of Motorola's claim of "total security" due to signal scrambling, or
- inversion, or something (obviously I'm not a tweek). There's a "demo
- button" on the phone to let you hear what the signal would sound like
- to anyone listening with a conventional scanner: Basically, it sounds
- like some Asian language spoken backward.
- Is there anyone out there who knows how secure this technology
- really is? (Please don't send speculations about what the
- technology _might_ be; I mean, anyone who is familiar with the Motorola
- line and *knows* what it is.) How motivated/sophisticated would someone
- need to be to eavesdrop on it? I'd really appreciate some informed
- advice. Thanks! [Post here or e-mail to ASOLOMO@American.edu]
