- Hey hey--
-
- Part I: An obscure technical question: On Gibson bridges, such as on
- my nice ES-335 which I love, thankyou for asking, there are little triangular
- wedges which the strings rest on. These are on screws so you can adjust the
- intonation. The wedges can also be reversed so the bevel is towards or away
- from the head of the guitar. What is the difference between these two states?
- For reference, off the rack my 335 has the top 4 string wedges one way and the
- low A and low E wedges the other way. I forget which is which at the moment.
- In attempting to answer this question I will also talk to a guitar tech and
- experiment when I re-string.
-
- Part II: I am enjoying the Hendrix/Clapton/et al anecdotes. I would like to
- see more, sort of doing the thread thing. Encouragement! Encouragement!
-
- thanks, gang. pq
