  19. Yep, it was titled "Bass Fishing Techniques".  An organization out in
  20. Edmond Oklahoma called Anglers Enterprises provides the materials and
  21. speakers (professional bass fishermen) and they work with local Technical
  22. Colleges or Community Colleges (usually).  In the seminar that I attended
  23. there were six speakers.  This is the standard format.  The six were:

  26.     Denny Brauer
  27.     Stacy King
  28.     David Fritz
  29.     Joe Thomas
  30.     Lendell Martin (substituted for Jon Hall)

  32. They tell you up front that these guys have sponsors that encourage them
  33. to do these things (seminars and boat shows) and they make you sit through
  34. a 10 minute video tape commercial first thing.

  36. About 300 people were divided into two groups.  Each group has three
  37. instructors in the morning and the same three in the afternoon.  Each
  38. pro teaches or lectures on two subjects.  The second day three new pros
  39. do the same thing. In other words, these six pros pull off two seminars
  40. in two cities on the same weekend.  In this case it was Greenville and
  41. Greensboro.

  43. The cost of the seminar was $69.00 and the hours were from 8:30 am to
  44. 4:45 pm each day with an hour and a half for lunch.  There was about
  45. 15 to 20 minutes between seminars to allow for autographs and individual
  46. questions.  All the pros encouraged questions during the lectures by
  47. the way.

  49. Was it worth it.  I think so.  The experience of the attendees ranged
  50. from novice to experienced (experienced = fishes club tournaments or
  51. local/regional tournaments).  Some of the novices had a little trouble
  52. with lingo like: stick baits, hard baits, soft stick baits, blade baits,
  53. etc.

  55. Personally, I learned two things that I know will help me catch more
  56. fish and I thoroughly enjoyed listening to these guys (even Denny
  57. Brauer, Pat :-)
