  27. There are limits to free spending money, but you can always invent another
  28. "ecomonic pie". The Japanese did it with VCRs. The problem with arguments
  29. of this sort is that they must necessarily ignore any successful minority
  30. groups, because they claim anti-<non-minority> bias. Most asians are doing
  31. just fine. The Chinese were brought over as indentured servants to build
  32. the railroads. Why are they not in the same boat as the blacks?

  34. I suspect that problem is culture. Not ours, but the native African
  35. culture many hold on to. A friend spent several years in Swaziland with the
  36. Peace Corps. When he got back, I was amazed at how slow he spoke and acted.
  37. These cultures are alien to life in America. And from what I have seen
  38. in TV specials, and from exposure to teachers, in many black schools, 
  39. you will get beat up at school for acting like whitey and getting an
  40. education. It is actively discouraged in many school's, massive peer
  41. pressure is exerted to not learn. Is it any wonder that these children
  42. cannot compete in the job market years later?

  44. What about busing? Has that improved the education situation? It seems
  45. not. In fact, it seems that at great cost, we have degraded education
  46. overall.

  48. Social problems in minority groups will not be fixed by blaming another
  49. group.
