  13. I say, Wodeheads, those of you who have scanned "Psmith Journalist" and a 
  14. Monty Bodkin saga (was it "Pearls, Girls, and Monty Bodkin" ?) ought to 
  15. have noticed the identical ending in either tales. The main character is 
  16. perched on the top storey of a rundown building, with certain thugs trying 
  17. to gain access to the hero via a small trapdoor. I remember Psmith (or Monty)
  18. addressing one such intruder with "Ah, the stout Cortez surveys the Pacific"
  19. (or something of the sort) before beaning him with some blunt object.

  23. My query is: what's the deal ? Did that particular sequence of events inspire
  24. the creation of Psmith ? Or did PGW like the whole scenario so much that he felt
  25. compelled to include it in two tales ?
