  16. 1.  The INCREDIBLE amount of traffic it has generated in a very short
  17.     period of time;

  19. 2.  The fact that such a high fraction of the readership, or at least 
  20.     the "postership," seems to be of East Indian origin -- though this 
  21.     makes sense, on reflection;

  23. 3.  The fact that many readers seem to be able to respond to queries by
  24.     giving the whole plot of some story or novel.  I forget the whole plot
  25.     within ten minutes of finishing the damn thing, and when I pick up a
  26.     new one it usually doesn't dawn on me that I've read it before until
  27.     I'm about three quarters of the way into it.
