  17. Yup. According to the Akallabeth, the Numenoreans were forbidded to
  18. travel west out of the sight of Numenor. From this limit, the
  19. far-sighted sailors could just barely see Tol Eressea. Therefore the
  20. limit was presumably halfway between Numenor and Tol Eressea.
