- I think everyone has missed the boat in this thread: Gandalf did not forget
- that he was a Maia. He spent a *long* time in human form, subject to all the
- troubles of mortality--including forgetfulness of things that are not before
- the eyes for a long time.

- The sorts of things which one might forget upon returning to life after a
- battle with a Balrog and a journey to the Undying Lands are how to be human,
- how not to frighten (or at least impress) those around one with one's innate
- power, and the like. What it is like to be tired, or hungry.
