- As Benjamin Disraeli said a century ago, there are three types of
- lies. Lies, damned lies, and statistics. Shame, shame. You ought
- to know that statistics never, ever "mathematically and conclusively
- " prove anything. The 90% confidence is just that. That, based upon
- our number of people surveyed, we can say that, assuming normality,
- the true per centage of gays will be covered by this region 9 out
- of ten times. It certainly supports the belief that <10% are gay
- But, unfortunately, you are using statistics the way that
- a drunk uses a lamp-post. For support rather than illumination.
