  25. Eric, you deleted the portion about the temporal nature of 'less than human'.
  26. *if* women are less-than-human when they are pregnant and under the compul-
  27. sion of an unjust government to bear children, they are not necessarily 
  28. less-than-human before or after.  Ditto men conscripted into service.  There
  29. remains a 'norm' of humanness for people; it is just seized from them 
  30. when the government thinks it's a good idea.
