  34.    Including my cousin, who on July 4, 1968, while stoned on LSD,
  35.    doused herself from a gasoline pump and lit a match. It took her
  36.    7 months to die.

  38. Without meaning to diminish the tragedy of your cousin's death, I
  39. suspect there were factors besides LSD.  For one, a culture-wide
  40. earthquake called 1968.  I also wouldn't trivialize LSD, but I think
  41. the abuse potential is low, because it doesn't produce a quick, cheap,
  42. comfortable high, like, say, cocaine, heroin, alcohol, nicotine,
  43. caffeine, . . . .  But it sure does scare people when you talk about
  44. it!

  46.    Nevertheless, as life's hazards go, LSD isn't that high on the list.
