- I saw a similar occurrance at a Chicago show. Some asshole in the
- front row tossed a cup full of coca-cola at FZ and it splashed all of
- him and his guitar. I had seats in the front row but way over to the
- left of center. He also gave some que, I don't recall if it was
- verbal or not but the band stopped instantly, right in the middle of
- a note. FZ asked for the asshole who did it, since he was in the
- front row he had a lot of people behind him so he was quickly on
- stage. This was after FZ's arm had been broken by a fan in Europe and
- Frank hired a new bodyguard. Anybody who's ever seen this bodyguard
- might have an idea of what happened to this poor dude. Zappa brought
- him on stage and asked if if he wanted to play his guitar(after he
- had just spent a good ten minutes cleaning both it and himself of the
- sticky coca-cola) and when the guy said "yes" the bodyguard
- forcefully grabbed him and carried him offstage. I can only imagine
- how hard this guy must have hit pavement. This kind of shit always
- ruins concerts for me. It makes me realize just how stupid the
- average american is and I go home feeling ashamed for us all.
