  11. Caught Zappa 3 times in Dallas...
  12. Was in 2nd row center for Winter '81 show with Vai, et al.
  13. Vai had light blue hair and bare feet. During a frenetically
  14. rendered double-time performance of 'Doreen' some moron lobbed
  15. an empty Jack Daniels bottle high and it came down directly in
  16. front of Stevie, shattering all over. Frank issued a non-verbal
  17. command which brought the music to an abrupt halt. He then calmly
  18. asked that the house lights be turned on. Reunion Arena promptly
  19. was lit. Poor Steve was standing perfectly still, what with his
  20. bare feet you see, while roadies worked to delicately remove the
  21. offending fragments. Meanwhile Frank calmly spake into the P.A.
  22. "Will the asshole who threw that please raise your hand?"
  23. No response.
  24. "Will the person BEHIND the asshole who threw that please raise
  25. YOUR hand?"
  26. Still nothing.
  27. When the roadies were finished (it took quite a while) they kicked
  28. back into Doreen at the exact point where they left off, in the middle
  29. of a sentence!
  30. A disgusting display, but the bad-vibe didn't last too long.
  31. Zappa skipped Dallas the following 2 years though.
  32. In fact the only show in Dallas since that incident was '83.
