- Yes, "TelnetBears" has been an idea I've been kicking around a while.
- My idea would be to have a dedicated TelnetBear server that students
- can connect to with a TelnetBear client program (so as to keep the
- net connection and load on the server as low as possible). A text menu
- makes things sooooo much faster for users, as opposed to the voice
- TeleBears in which you must sit and wait for the voice to tells you
- what's on the menu.
-
- Of course, TeleBears should still be around for those without net
- access. TeleBears and TelnetBears would work together. TelnetBears
- would allow me (and other people with accounts) to select my classes
- from my account instead of from an *extremely* busy phone line.

- Despite Berkeley's prominent stature in the field of computer science,
- the campus itself has done too little to make use of any progress in
- technology. The school is run by computer illiterate technophobes.
- It saddens me to see these people use their adminstrative power to
- keep this school technologically backwards and refuse to hear of any
- suggestion from students to improve. I fully support Eric's actions.
