  20. I'm not sure you can do this exactly as you describe it - the entities
  21. being dimensioned need a literal value for the initial iteration in
  22. the drawing.  One approach would be to attach XED (extended entity
  23. data) with a 'transformable data type' to the entities whose
  24. dimensional values are parametric, and later use the transformable
  25. data to procedurally update them.

  27. Alternatively, (there are plenty of alternative ways to do this) 
  28. you could have the XED to take the form of something along the 
  29. lines of 'attached procedures' rather than data, which would 
  30. conditionally cause the entities to be resized.

  35. I just saw an ADS application yesterday written by John Walker
  36. for maintaining component dimiensions in a Lotus 123 spreadsheet
  37. and have the changes propogate to the AutoCad drawing of the 
  38. components.  The link is two-way - AutoCad can also be used to
  39. update the Lotus spreadsheet.  I haven't tried it yet but it 
  40. looks interesting.  If you'd like to take a look, it's on an 
  41. Internet node in Switzerland.
