  21. I used to call the NY Transfer BBS because at the time they were the only
  22. local outlet for the Fidonet shortwave echo.

  24. However, the Kellys insisted on using the automatic origin line (inserted
  25. on the bottom of echoed messages originating from their system) with such
  26. friendly messages as "DEATH TO THE BRITISH" without user's knowledge
  27. or consent. After being barraged with hate mail from users of other systems
  28. resulting from something we could not even control, the NY Transfer was
  29. abandoned for friendlier systems.
