  28. You don't mean "freely elected" you mean "directly elected".   He does
  29. not run in a special election in the way that the US president does.
  30. Instead, he is elected leader of his party first, and then after a General
  31. Election the leader of the party that can control the legislature becomes 
  32. Prime Minister.    The electorate know who they are going to get for Prime
  33. Minister if they vote for X party.   This is how most Pariamentary systems
  34. work.   It's not special to the UK.   [Note, not England, which has no
  35. Prime Minister of its own, but UK]

  38. Kinnock, not John Major.
