- In Article 3365 of alt.astrology:

- About this, I would have to contribute that I find it almost
- inconceivable (but of course not improbable) that one could be a great
- astrologer without being a spiritual aspirant of some sort.
- Also, the spiritual path (whatever it is) must be of the right type,
- that is, it has the capacity to develop one's intuition (supramental
- ability).
- Without intuitional help, my humble opinion is that an astrologer
- gets lost in semantics and form of the chart and cannot see substance.
- What happens is when one tries to interpret without intuitional reflection,
- nothing makes sense. But if one utilises the intuitional faculty, everything
- makes sense. Also what happens, from experience, is that when intuition is
- not used, one gets fascinated by the mathematics, geometry, etc of the
- astrology but cannot interpet nor act based on the interpretation.
- Since the first chart that one usually tries to interpret is one's
- own chart, without spiritual practice (or intuitional practice), one
- finds it difficult to be honest enough to see one's own mistakes and
- good points. We always like to see the good points and rationalize the bad.
- Therefore, if one cannot honestly interpet one's own chart, one cannot
- conceivably interpret others' charts.
- So far as I know, my humble opinion is that only spiritual practices
- of the right type can conquer self-illusion and self-deception to be able
- to see one's and other's existence clearly.
- Otherwise, we all get lost in self-rationalization.
