  15. I assume that Michael Wendling, as someone in a physics and astronomy
  16. department, is capable of the arithmetic required to show that the
  17. amount of oxygen (20 percent) in the atmosphere cannot be
  18. significantly reduced by burning fuels.  There is too much oxygen
  19. and not enough carbon in burnable form.  However, I doubt that
  20. mere facts can relieve an anxiety based on the mood of the times.
