  19. This is the tiredest rhetorical ploy on Usenet.  There is absolutely
  20. NOTHING, other than your linking them in personal disapprobation, that
  21. is a common ground between abortion and the Nazi genocide of the Jews.

  23. If one were dealing with a state policy/demand/program of abortion
  24. (as has been charged against the Chinese, I do not know whether truth-
  25. fully or not), some degree of comparison might be allowed.  That such
  26. a policy -- and most especially an extra-legal paramilitary goon-squad
  27. or (worse still!) a segment of "legitimately constituted" armed force
  28. engaged in carrying OUT such a policy -- is not present in the USA is,
  29. I hope, obvious to all but the crackpots.  Introducing such shibboleths
  30. into a discussion of OUR laws is evidence of a bankruptcy of ideas.
