  19. I'm not up on the specifics, but I do know that as late as about 1979 the
  20. Vatican came out with a statement saying that the VATICAN AND POPE WERE
  21. INFALLIBLE AND THE ROMAN CATHOLIC FOLLOWERS WERE NOT TO QUESTION THEM IN
  22. THE LEAST (IE. IT WAS A SIN TO DO SO ).  A big stink occured at about that time
  23. with rogue Catholic theologans who questioned Vatican dictates.  I believe
  24. in one case one priest or theologian was ordered by the church to be silent
  25. for a year.  After the year was up the man's first words were something like
  26. like "Where was I now," or "To get back to what I was saying,".  I don't 
  27. know if this was around the same time as the Vatican statement.  I'll say
  28. though I first heard of the Vatican's statement when I was about fourteen
  29. and spent hours in complete disbelief about how anyone could follow such
  30. a ridiculous instituition.  If anyone knows the specifics of the above cases
  31. please post them because I would love to know more about them myself.
