  14. Thanks to all those who responded to my request for a decent
  15. introduction to constrained minimization.  The references which are
  16. most useful:

  18. Fletcher, _Practical Methods of Optimization_
  19. Murray and Wright _Practical Optimization_
  20. Scales, _Linear and Nonlinear Optimization_
  21. Gill and Murray, _Numerical Methods for Constrained Optimization_
  22.  
  23. Numerical Recipes was mentioned several times, but only has code for
  24. unconstrained optimizations, outside of some stuff on linear
  25. programming. (Not useful, my problem has non-linear constraints.)

  27. If anyone's curious, I'm currently using a method based on molecular
  28. dynamics with constraints, but this is in general too slow to
  29. converge.
