- Thanks to all those who responded to my request for a decent
- introduction to constrained minimization. The references which are
- most useful:
-
- Fletcher, _Practical Methods of Optimization_
- Murray and Wright _Practical Optimization_
- Scales, _Linear and Nonlinear Optimization_
- Gill and Murray, _Numerical Methods for Constrained Optimization_
-
- Numerical Recipes was mentioned several times, but only has code for
- unconstrained optimizations, outside of some stuff on linear
- programming. (Not useful, my problem has non-linear constraints.)
-
- If anyone's curious, I'm currently using a method based on molecular
- dynamics with constraints, but this is in general too slow to
- converge.
-
- Thanks again for your help.
