- Agreed, but I would suggest a different sort of split (if there is to be
- a split at all). After all, what is "recreational" math, anyway? How do
- you draw the line between that and "ordinary" math?

- It appears to me that a much clearer dividing line is the one between
- discussions about mathematics and discussions about people & society.
- In the latter category are topics like teaching, textbook prices,
- innumeracy, US vs. Japan, the job market, mathematical personalities,
- who won the Fields Medal, etc....
