- On the question of whether English is a creole or mixed language, I
- strongly recommend reading Case Study 9.8 of Sarah Grey Thomason and
- Terrence Kaufman's _Language Contact, Creolization, and Genetic Linguistics_,
- which argues at length (about 80 pp.) against the claim that
- English is a creole or mixed language.
