- After receiving slews of flame mail and many degrading posts regarding
- my post, I have decided to explain the situation for all you happy
- flamers.
-
- When I said "Standard RS-232 uses +/-5V DC" I was reffering to the voltage
- that it is capable of handling, not what is used as a standard voltage. I
- have built many serial interfaces and used 5 volts to serve as my communication
- voltage without problems. I also realize that +/- 9V DC and +/- 12V DC are
- usually a more stable level (and also recomended) but it will work just
- fine with 5 volts. Sorry for any inconvenience caused!
