  10. I have an NEC 5FG. It is a multisync RGB monitor. I also have the CPU
  11. boards for an arcade video game. It has NTSC timed analog RGB output.
  12. I want to know if the two will be compatable. I suspect they will, but
  13. I am confused:

  15. It's my understanding that the vertical retrace rate of NTSC is 60 Hz,
  16. and that it is interlaced, yielding 30 pictures per second. But the
  17. monitor says 55-90 Hz vertical sync rate. That sounds compatable
  18. to me.

  20. It's my understanding that the horizontal retrace rate of NTSC is
  21. 14 kHz. The monitor says that its acceptable range is 27-79 kHz.
  22. Now 14 x 2 is 28, but am I reading too much into that coincidence?
  23. Am I wrong about the NTSC horizontal rate? Or is NTSC too low-res
  24. for such a fine monitor to deign to display? :-)
