- The book "The Competitive Advantage Of Nations" (Michael Porter, Free Press,
- ISBN 0-02-925361-6) discusses this quite well. Mr. Porter examines computers
- and s/w from the standpoint that s/w is a "service industry", and that these
- products (sw/hw) are "factors" utilized by other "cluster's" of industries.

- Although Computers && software are just a few of the industries discussed,
- (about 30 pages out of ~780 :-), it is quite an interesting bit of research.
- Although it's quite a large book, it is very readable, and if you have
- any interest in macro economics, you probably won't be able to put it
- down.
