  12. Some friends of mine want to build their own winch for launching sailplanes
  13. (sport flying - not necessarily competition). I wonder if somebody could send
  14. me some relatively detailed plans, with parts list, where to get stuff, etc.
  15. I know some of the basic parts, but not the details...

  17. Automotive starter motor - but what goes on the motor's output shaft?
  18.  
  19. 900 feet of line - what kind, and where do I get it?
  20.  
  21. Turnaround - Is a bicycle wheel hub good enough? How should it be mounted to 
  22. avoid line tangles?

  24. Car or marine battery - Preferrably one that can handle deep-discharge, since
  25. it won't constantly be on charge.
