- Some friends of mine want to build their own winch for launching sailplanes
- (sport flying - not necessarily competition). I wonder if somebody could send
- me some relatively detailed plans, with parts list, where to get stuff, etc.
- I know some of the basic parts, but not the details...
-
- Automotive starter motor - but what goes on the motor's output shaft?
-
- 900 feet of line - what kind, and where do I get it?
-
- Turnaround - Is a bicycle wheel hub good enough? How should it be mounted to
- avoid line tangles?
-
- Car or marine battery - Preferrably one that can handle deep-discharge, since
- it won't constantly be on charge.
-
- Vielen Dank!
