- Larry must have read his new Fox newsletter. Fox is offering a 'stuffer'
- backplate and a pointed needle valve for the Fox .35. Fox is also
- offering a two piece head for same motor. I've already picked up a
- couple of needle valves and they work GREAT! No more guessing on the
- mixture setting with this needle. I've also bought a couple of stuffer
- backplates from a machinist and they seem to improve the stunt run a
- little. The 'stuffer backplate does fit in the crankcase more snuggly
- and reduces the horrendous endplay on the crankshaft. Theoretically
- its suppose to improve fuel draw/suction and pumping in the crankcase.
- I wouldn't use the stock gasket though. It's too thick and causes
- distortion to the backplate lugs since the gasket does not go beyond
- the bolt circle.
-
- As for the Super Tigre needle valve, I would be reluctant to use it
- since it is larger in diameter than the stock Fox. This will reduce
- the venturi area in the carb thus reducing your top end power. The
- way around that is open the venturi with the next size drill bit or
- reduce the diameter of the needle valve body with a lathe.
