- It's oxidation, probably mostly aluminum hydroxide and zinc oxide and other
- metal oxides or hydroxides caused by water in prolonged contact with the
- metal of the interior of the float bowl. The only way I've found to really get
- it out is by sandblasting/glass beading (and make sure you get all the abrasives
- out of all the passages before re-assembly).
