  13. I am soliciting ideas on the best (tm) way to convert a '74 small block 
  14. chevy 350 from points to electronic ignition.

  16. I have seen generic conversion kits in catalogs, but it seems to me that 
  17. it would be easier (and maybe cheaper?) to just drop a (used) HEI 
  18. distributor into the motor. I am under the impression that chevy went 
  19. from points -> HEI in '74, so is the block the same for the points and 
  20. HEI motors?? Am I dreaming, or would this work? What other
  21. parts/work/connections would be needed to complete the conversion
  22. besides 
  23. the distributor?

  25. Is it better to go with a conversion kit & keep the old distributor? 
  26. Any suggestions appreciated.
