- Are you sure the firing order is 123456? That sound strange. I have
- usually seen firing orders that tend to jump around a bit like
- 135246 or something like that. I don't have a technical reference here
- but from the sound of it the firing order you have sounds wrong.

- You can tell where post number one is if you turn the motor over and align
- the crank mark with the mark on the timing case (should be there, probably
- covered in oil and dirt). Pop off the distributor cap and look at where
- the rotor is pointing. Compare it to the original cap. Does it point to the
- number one post? If not you may have to turn the motor over one more
- revolution (distributor turns once for every two turns of the crank).
