- Anyone properly set the ignition timing on an 86 Accord with carb? When
- I shine the timing light into the slot between the transmission and block
- onto the flywheel (as the Haynes book says), I can see only one little marker,
- probably for TDC. The engine should be 15 degrees before top dead center.
- There is a pointer fixed to the block, the flywheel spins, and when you shine
- the timing light at the flywheel you are supposed to read the numbers stamped
- on the plaque (attached to the flywheel). All I see is a big blur, except for
- the TDC hole. Right now I just set it a little before TDC, and it seems to run
- fine. Actually I could tell no difference between the advanced and retarded
- settings. Maybe it's not that critical?
