- Definitely disconnect the battery. I did the same thing (6 months) without
- disconnecting the battery, and ended up having to replace the original battery
- when I got back (the original would no longer charge, as automotive batteries
- are not "deep cycle", meaning they cannot be discharged completely without doing
- permanent damage to the battery electrodes).

- Other tips: dont set your parking break, especially if you have rear drums.

- And when you come back, there's likely to be a layer of rust on your disc
- brakes, which will have a temporary deletorious effect on both your brake pads
- and your braking distance till the discs become polished again.
