- It uses a steel cable and a counterweight. I could probably disconnect
- the cable from the (1/8" plate steel) lid and add a loop of nylon rope,
- but I don't intend to leave the lid up unless I'm actually putting
- something in or taking it out. In that case, if some mischance lights
- it off, I can just pull the lid down with my handy broom or a piece of
- aluminum bar stock.

- In all of the places I've worked, the solvent tanks had big steel lids
- that LATCHED open so they wouldn't get bumped and fall shut, which could
- cause Excedrin Headache #41, assuming your brains didn't just squeeze
- out into the solvent.
